The Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR) is included in the DUTCH Cycle Mapping + Plus. CAR saliva samples are collected on the Final Collection Day: waking, +30 min and +60 min after waking.
This test is collected across your full menstrual cycle — one sample each morning upon waking, starting on day 7 of your cycle. The collection schedule depends on your cycle length. Day 1 is the first day of menstrual flow, not spotting.

This is also your DUTCH Plus collection day. Urine and saliva samples are collected throughout this one day. Saliva is collected at waking, +30 minutes and +60 minutes after waking (do not eat, drink or brush your teeth before the +60 min sample). Urine samples are collected at +2 hours, dinner and bedtime. Freeze all saliva samples until you’re ready to ship. If you have no cycle, collect these on day 33.
Collect the missed sample the following day and continue as normal. You do not need to collect every sample within a single 24-hour period.

I recommend this test when symptoms vary across the month and a single snapshot won’t give the full picture. It’s particularly useful for fertility investigations, suspected ovulation problems, or when the pattern of symptoms across the cycle is the key clinical question.
This test is not suitable for women on hormonal birth control. If you’re unsure whether this or the DUTCH Complete is the right test for you, get in touch and I’ll advise.
